by Dr. R. Dean Anderson

mentions an instrument by the same guy from the same year:

A114    MAKER: J. M. DE DE BAN
         DATE: 1770
         OWNERSHIP: Smithsonian, Washington DC, on loan from the Corcoran 
Gallery of Art.
