Martin, thank you so much for your help. I revisited the jack, the
photos of which I sent you, and there, sure enough, molded into the
little bridge at the top of the tongue window is the word "Bolton". I
guess I was so busy measuring the jack that I didn't bother looking for
a name on it. Duh! What seems miraculous to me that in inspecting the
photos I sent you, I cannot see the name. How did you see it? Maybe it's
time for an eye checkup for me...
Peter Bavington's post indicates that the jacks are no longer available.
I would therefore plead with any of you on the list who might have any
Bolton jacks languishing forgotten in a drawer, please let me know. I
should be happy to purchase a few from you. I only need four jacks. If
there are simply none to be had, I shall be driven to figuring out how
to make or adapt acceptable replacements.
