One
sad thing is she had the 'Wanda Landowska quote' sanded off the top of
the jackrail. (You know, the quote Pleyel put on all the jackrails
about her wanting the 16' adding). It seems to be some kind of
decal.... and I was wondering if anyone knew how i might go about
getting it replaced....
Why not contact Pleyel in Paris? They probably have a file drawer full
of them somewhere, IF they would still work.

signature in pencil on the UNDERSIDE of the jackrail.
Amazing! I have a few WL autographs. I WISH I had one on a Pleyel
harpsichord!! And through a piece of serendipity, I just acquired a
Yella Pessl autograph.

have Landowska's name removed from their instruments? Maybe she was
a bitch?
Landowska stories abound. She was a proud and dynamic woman, and I am
sure more than one has used the "b word" to describe her. But a more
logical reason for this action would be the fact that WL went out of
fashion and there was a perceived need for performers to distance
themselves from her. Or, perhaps the jackrail simply need refinishing.
