I am speculating here that while one of these may have the 11 pure
fifths, which is Arnout van Zwolle's recipe for Pythagorian, while
the other may be so-called "Just", with nine pure fifths, two that
are smaller by a Syntonic Comma, and one, completing the circle, that
is 5/6 of a Pythagorian Comma larger than a pure fifth.
Either of these can be pretty excruciating in their own way.
