The latest I know was published in Scientific American, Feb.91.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-acoustics-of-the-harpsichord/

Unfortunately it is only available as payware. It is not included in any free source such as Academia.edu.

I have a printed copy of it in the Scientific American Spanish edition, Apr.91.

Is is certainly worth reading the 6 pages of text. The experiments used fundamental frequencies from extreme bass up to 600Hz, and the article reproduces in full colour the 4 patterns for frequencies 57, 102, 253 and 484 Hz.

For those who have the article, I have a few minor caveats about it, but it is pointless to discuss them here (unless quite a few some list members happened to have it as well).
