Thank you very much for your answers!

They will be very helpful. I'll take Peter's advice to be patient very seriously...As I'm a beginner, I stress a lot when gluing and this time I forget to confirm that the base of the bridge and the surface of the sound board fit completely well. And now, after gluing the two pieces when I expose the soundboard to the light I can see little gaps of light between the bridge and the soundboard what means that the surfaces aren't well fit. So, I must to unglue and correct this. The unique positive thing about that is, because is bad glued, probably it will be easier to unglue.

Many thanks again

Júlio

Assunto: Re: ungluing clavichord bridge

Julio

I have unglued many violin fronts with an electric iron. Comes off like

butter .... if you haven't glued the ribs on this should be easy... do it

it carefully & use the coolest setting not to risk burning the wood. use

a knife to gently ease it off. I sometime use a folded piece of wet cloth

to be on the safe side.

Hope the picture (removing the fingerboard of an antique guitar) comes

through

George
