Many thanks to Tom, Chris, Claudio & Richard.

What do you think of the following (fairly easy, except for the new
paint job required) solution suggested off-list?

- Remove whatever glue that can be removed with a knife; (one of the
possible explanations is that there might not have been enough glue in
the first place)
- Unstring the instrument, or at least unwind all the strings so there
is no tension
- Reglue the liner (and hitchpin rail) using screws from the outside to
clamp and hold the liner to the bentside

(This assumes of course that the gap can be closed with screws once the
strings are off.)

Thanks.

Dennis
PS. I've assembled many Zuckermann kits with their own glue, and all
have held up perfectly (the oldest will soon be forty).
