Denzil Wraight and Christopher Stembridge:

The article begins with Wraight's
"A Checklist of Surviving Italian String Keyboard Instruments with Split
Sharps"
The eight surviving virginals known to Wraight in 1994 are listed on. p.
152-153.
The compass of no. 8 seems to have been altered. There are no such
observations about the other seven virginals, which probably means that
they still have their subsemitones.
Would of course be interesting to update the article's lists for stringed
keyboard instruments.
