I agree with Phil about sharing information about instruments, but I did get a
bit impatient with a would-be fortepiano maker who wrote me that he was upset
he couldn't find a plan of a Streicher piano to buy so would I please let him
have one of mine.  I gave him a lecture about doing one's own grunt-work and
research.  We don't need any more people who use second-hand research,
intending to base their career on it.
