I hasten to add that none of Titus' instruments I have seen ever suffered from any structural damage, they were all sound and hole. But I have seen plenty of full 5 octave doubles that had bulging bentsides, more or less from sticking to early Ruckers framing below the liner. Nothing came off, it just bended, bulging over the cross-member.
Amazingly, I have seen some Bom instruments that were strung in steel with 0,27 as thinnest' gauge, going up to f''' and these did not implode or cave in.
