Hi Dennis,
I had a similar condition on an instrument happen (not Hubbard), but was able to strengthen it with long bolts that went all the way through the wrest plank and supporting blocks underneath with nuts at the bottom. the heads of the bolts can be counter sunk into the top of the wrest plank and hidden with the molding on top (if there is one and you can remove it). It’s a bit tricky driilling such a long distance and keeping the drill bit where it needs to be - go very slowly and check the angle from all directions often.
I used gauge blocks to measure accurately the gap so I could keep track of it. I Tightened the bolts quite a bit but not enough to pull the gap together much since the dried glue is a barrier to that. But I can report that since I put the nuts and bolts in the gap has not widened even two years after being re-strung.
You also might add a wood screw or two through the supporting block into the cheek to ensure the block never works it’s way loose.
I realize this all sounds too much for many purists but - it worked for me.

I'm looking at a Hubbard "Taskin" instrument made from a kit in the late 1970s, I believe, which, besides the jacks, seems very sound except that the wrestplank has been pulled away from the nameboard in the bass - there is a gap of about 1.5 mm.
How could this be repaired and strengthened?
I'd appreciate advice from our knowledgeable list members.
Thanks.
Dennis
