Absolutely. Book 1 refers to several sources, corrects Fuller’s misunderstanding of the structure of some dances, provides as near to the original version of the preludes with suggested prelude revisions in the appendix, and contains a 25,000 word preface on Le Roux and the sources, with meticulous research on Le Roux and an assessment of all current research. It also contains a section on performance practice by David Ledbetter and a transcription of Walther’s copy of Suite VII, which is found in the famous Mus.Ms.P801z
Volume II is a first. It uses Le Roux’s exemplars and provides all the pieces arranged for two harpsichords, taking the trios’ contreparties for their outline.
The volumes are the result of several years of research and editing. You might check out the website to read the research and take a sneak peek at the contents.
Cheers!
