It's not you know! That title must surely go to Sabathil. A truly
dreadful instrument where the keys are returned by chunks of foam
rubber instead of lead weights - and that ain't all its problems
either! (Not quite true - I once saw a later one without the foam
rubber!)

As to losing the Landowska inscription, surely that would be
inevitable if the instrument were to be refinished in a different
color? One would think that it would have to be returned to its
original mahogany for the inscription to be correct.

I have no idea whether Pleyel is still extant, but if they are, there
might well be some left-over decals.

Question: what were the pedal upgrades? I know that earlier Pleyels
had reverse pedals: you depressed the pedal to turn the stop OFF!
Later ones were like other instruments. Was this one altered to the
later arrangement?

Best!
