Hi H peeps,
Anyone know about these recordings? I just tried emailing, got "no
such address" message.
Apparently there was a connection to Cal State Long Beach, which is
interesting to me, for a year (1980) I was a harpsichord student in
their early music program.
I came across this link, poking about re "Chi passa questa strada",
which I'm learning (the Dublin Virginal manuscript version).
Thanks for any info! Gesine

Harpsichord Music, Ammerbach and Frescobaldi
This is a 15 minute recording. The instrument is his harpsichord
number three, built in 1955, which is a single manual instrument. The
compositions are by Nicolaus Ammerbach, Girolamo Frescobaldi, and
anonymous with the harpsichord tuned in Pythagorean and Straight
Pythagorean, which were the tunings in use at the time of these
compositions. These are: “Passamezzo Antico,” “Chi Passa per Questa
Strada,” “Aria with Variations,” and “Variations on ‘La Folia”.
This recording is on one CD with printed identification included.
Professor Clare Rayner during his study of Kuhnle at California State
University Long Beach (CSULB) in 1974 considered this 1962 recording
an addendum to the “History of Tuning Keyboard Instruments.”
