Dear All,

I once had a freeze in my home while away and the intense cold did some damage (reparable) to one of my instruments. But the house did freeze…was around 20 degrees….

There is a very happy solution if possible in your homes. Since we have a form of ducting and hot air, we were able to put a humidity system in the heating and my home never goes below 50% humidity. I think we paid about 4,000 to put in the system…less possibly…and it has significantly made my life easier. The instruments are very happy…and remain stable…. The only problem is taking them out for concerts where a concert space is at 20% humidity!!!

Cheers…

ANDREW
