I agree Anne and if as a player you find quill more expressive and gives you what you want that must be  your choice.    My work with plastic has been because that was what was expected from me from my by my clients.     So I have spent many hours and thought trying to get the end product as close as possible to what feather gives.     The easy way would have been to use feather.
