What an interesting point Peter, I have a little anecdote!
Having prepared one of my instruments for a recital by the master,
Kenneth Gilbert a while back, I notice he rehearsed the entire programme
from memory; I was very impressed. After tuning for the performance I
left the music desk in the green room, how nice to have an uncluttered
harpsichord on the platform.BOY did I get a bollicking, he ripped me off
such a strip he felt the need to apologise to me after the concert
explaining in was tempting fate to not have the desk and did I not note
the manuscripts were on the floor beside his stool.I do not, as you
know, like mentioning names but it may be of help and avoid blushes for
other makers to know such detail:-)
