Exactly my idea.
I asked a second person to confirm that it was indeed red brass. The instrument was built in 1996. One would think that a better knowledge of stringing was present at that time. The smallest diameter is 0.21. I don't know if even Malcolm Rose makes such small diameters in red brass.

Hi Chris,
Generally we would only use red brass type material in the lower reaches of the compass. Seems odd to use it throughout.
