Funeral Homes and organsOk....speaking as a church organist, concert organist, and funeral director, I feel quailified to make a few statements on the quailty of funeral music and the instruments contained therein. First of all, it is a common misconception that funeral homes "rake in the money." Funeral homes like Frank E. Campbell in NYC, McEwen Funeral Service in Charlotte, NC, and Patterson's in Atlanta, which are some of the largest firms in the United States, are owned by a corporation in Texas that owns funeral homes around the world. These places, are cash cows for the company, and unfortunately, carry the brunt of the cash flow for the company. I know, as I worked for this company and went to school on their money. (1 message)
